Sleeper, 2020
Whilst waiting for COVID-19 to allow me to work with poet Jo Colley to develop a live performance based on her latest collection Sleeper, I am producing an online collaborative film-poem project focusing on one long poem from the book.
Deranged Poetesses, 2017-2019
From 2010-2020 I worked as Producer for national performance poetry organisation Apples and Snakes. in this capacity I produced a wide range of live events, workshops and commissions for spoken word poets. I am particularly proud of Deranged Poetesses, a multi-media showcase for Northern womxn artists. Given a theme or provocation, they were asked to respond with 13 minutes of poetry performed to a timed slideshow of images and/or video. Often combining live art, live sound-loops, music, animation, dance and utter surreality, these nights were utterly unique and drew a loyal following.
